A team of Nepalese Hindu Forum UK (NHFUK) met Rt honourable Mrs Priti Patel, employment minister, and MP Bob Blackman, chairman of all Party Parliamentary Group for British Hindus at the House of Commons yesterday.

Various issues of the Nepalese community and the Nepalese Hindus including chaplaincy training, equality act, crematorium, interfaith and holiday for the Hindus during the greatest Hindu festivals among others were raised during the meeting with the Minister and the MP.  The minister and the UKNHF Meets MinisterMP were very positive about such issues of the Nepalese community.

Mrs Patel and Mr Blackman representing Conservative party are said to be very positive about the issues of the Hindu community in the United Kingdom. The team of the Nepalese delegation included Chairman Surya Upadhya, Founding member and businessman Ravi Jung Lamichhane, Spiritual advisor Pundit Durga Pokhrel, Shankar Dahal and general secretary of the Forum Chiranjibi Paudyal.

Meanwhile, the team also appraised Mr Blackman, chairman of all Party Parliamentary Group for British Hindus, of the extremely difficult situation of the Nepalese due to the Indian blockade for the last few months at a time of massive damage and destruction after the terrible earthquake of April last year. MP Mr Blackman expressed serious concern about this humanitarian issue and assured his full support from his side. Laxmi Kaul, Founder & Executive Member of Kashmiri Pandits Cultural Society was also present during the meeting.
